Save the date: 17–19 October 2025, Geneva
We are excited to announce that this year’s SVPA-ASMAP-ASAP Retreat will take place in Geneva, and we warmly invite all our board members to join us. Our theme, “Building Tools, Building Trust”, reflects our shared mission: to develop practical, concrete solutions that strengthen confidence, in ourselves as future specialists, in our professional community, and in the future of mental health care in Switzerland. Through open dialogue, collaborative thinking, and hands-on working sessions, we aim to lay strong foundations for a more supportive, better-connected, and trustworthy psychiatric training environment.
Saturday: Building the Future
On Saturday, board members will meet to reflect on the challenges faced by psychiatry trainees, explore practical solutions, and shape the future direction of SVPA-ASMAP-ASAP.
Our main objective is to create a practical toolkit: a collection of tools, tips, and resources designed to make psychiatric training in Switzerland clearer and more accessible. This will be available on our website, with additional materials exclusively for association members. It will cover guidance on navigating and understanding the training programme and e-logbook, as well as advice on key clinical issues encountered in everyday practice. In the afternoon, we will take part in team-building activities, followed by a dinner to celebrate a year of commitment and shared achievements.
Sounds like something you’d like to be part of? This is your opportunity to get involved, contact us for more information.
The General Assembly (GA)
The General Assembly is the heart of our association: the moment when board members and the wider membership come together to align priorities and set goals for the year ahead.
Our board is made up of 13 motivated and committed psychiatry trainees representing all regions of Switzerland. We give trainees a voice in key forums, including the SGPP/SSPP training commission, the SIWF/ISFM, and the VSAO/ASMAC. We also provide peer-to-peer support via our website, offer logbook coaching sessions, and keep members updated on important developments in psychiatric training and mental health care in Switzerland. Psychiatry trainees face many challenges, and the engagement of our members is essential for our work to have real impact and meaning.
Join the Board, Make a Difference
This year, we are looking for new board members, including a Treasurer, to help strengthen our network of trainees across Switzerland, co-organise the pre-congress, and contribute to developing new tools and resources for our members.
Joining the board is a unique opportunity to understand and influence the structures that regulate our training, connect with trainees from across Europe through our EFPT partnership, broaden your perspective on psychiatry, and strengthen your teamwork and leadership skills.
Curious? Motivated? Come to the GA and join the conversation and help us shape the future of psychiatric training.
