We at SVPA-ASMAP-ASAP (Swiss Association of Psychiatry and Psychotherapy Trainees) take the protection of your personal data seriously. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and what rights you have.

The Swiss Association of Psychiatric Trainees (SVPA-ASMAP-ASAP, also known as SAPT) is a non-profit professional association under Swiss law.

Our purpose is to represent and support psychiatry and psychotherapy trainees across Switzerland, providing educational resources, events, and advocacy at the national and international level.

  • Strictly necessary cookies: required for website navigation and secure access to protected areas.

  • Analytics cookies: we use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use our site. IP anonymisation is enabled, which means Google shortens IP addresses within the EU/EEA before transmission to the USA. Data is not merged with other Google data. Retention is currently set to 50 months, after which data is automatically deleted.

  • Security cookies: we use Google reCAPTCHA on selected forms to protect against spam and automated misuse. This service may collect limited data such as IP address or interaction behaviour, processed by Google for security purposes.

5. Data storage and security

Our website is hosted by Hostpoint AG (Rapperswil-Jona, Switzerland). All data that you provide through this website (e.g. membership registration, event participation, or contact forms) is stored securely on Hostpoint’s servers located in Switzerland. Data processing therefore takes place under Swiss data protection law (revFADP).

Additional third-party services integrated into our website (e.g. Google Analytics, Google reCAPTCHA, embedded libraries from Elementor, MailerLite) may involve data transfer outside Switzerland or the EU/EEA. In such cases, processing takes place on the basis of adequacy decisions or with appropriate safeguards as required by law.

In addition to the services listed above, we also use Google Workspace (Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland) for email communication, document storage and collaboration (e.g. Gmail, Drive, Docs, Sheets, Meet). In this context, data may be processed on servers in Switzerland, the EU or the USA. Google ensures compliance with Swiss and EU data protection standards through contractual safeguards and adequacy mechanisms. 6. Data retention

We retain personal data for at least 10 years, unless you request its deletion earlier and no overriding legal obligations apply. This retention period allows us to fulfil statutory duties as an association, maintain accurate membership records, and ensure continuity in event organisation and governance.

Analytics and technical data (e.g. Google Analytics) are subject to shorter retention periods as defined by the respective providers (currently 50 months).

 

7. Your rights

Under the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP) and, where applicable, the EU GDPR, you have the right to:

  • Access the data we hold about you

  • Request correction or deletion of your data

  • Withdraw your consent to data processing (e.g. unsubscribe from communications)
